Family Therapy

Families come in many shapes and sizes and are often the crucible of where our vitality and suffering meet. Whether it is our family-of-origin or our family-of-choice, there will be times when we need some extra help through our days of crisis or ineffective communication to times of expansive joy and an easier daily life. Some of my greatest pleasures as a therapist have come from watching as a family transitions from a place of blaming, shaming, and scapegoating to one where all voices are heard and new pathways are found.

Recommendations for family therapy:

  • Empowering parents/Removing blame from parenting
  • Discovering independence for teens and other children
  • Work for untraditional families—Single Parents, Mixed-Race, LGBT Families
  • Drug/Alcohol Abuse
  • Grief/Loss/Suicide
  • 21st Century Challenges—Social Media, Cell-Phones
  • Parental Adaptation in a modern world
  • Career challenges/stresses on a busy family life
  • Better Communication
  • Boundaries and goal-setting
